MISSION STATEMENT
The Lakes Shores Association exists to provide for the preservation of the values and amenities and for the maintenance of parks, playgrounds and other common facilities for the benefit of the Members of the Lake Shores Association; to administer and maintain such facilities; and to enforce the covenants and restrictions imposed on the Association lots.
LAKE SHORES ASSOCIATION GOVERNANСE
The 1966 Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions caused to be created a State of Michigan non-profit corporation the LAKE SHORES ASSOCIATION (LSA) to provide for the preservation of the amenities of the common properties for the Association Members and to administer and maintain such facilities and to enforce the covenants and restrictions imposed on the Association lots.
The Association (LSA) is governed by a five member Board of Directors, elected by LSA members. Each Director is elected for a two year term. There are “staggered”terms with two Directors being elected one year and three Directors being elected the subsequent year. The annual election occurs during the month of July with the term of office being August 1 to July 31. Any “Member in Good Standing” may self-nominate themselves for inclusion on the ballot. Any and all actions taken by the Board of Directors are subject to and compliant with the “Convenants and Restrictions” and the “Articles and By-Laws of the Lake Shores Association”.
The Board of Directors meet in open forum (all members are welcome) once each month. An Annual Association Meeting is held on the 2nd Saturday of August. The Board of Directors prepares and adheres to an “Annual Budget” for the administration of the members “Annual Maintenance Fee” which is assessed each April 1. (Said Annual Fee is $ 200.00) LSA has a contract with Acacia Group Property Management LLC, 3251 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, Mi 49508 to receive, disburse and record all Association monies. The Annual LSA Maintenance Fee can be paid electronically thru the ACACIA PORTAL via ACH (no fee) and Credit Card (fees applicable)
LSA utilizes three media platforms to inform and communicate with it’s
members.

Upon becoming a member of the Association, the member’s email address is added to this service.
All Indian Lake properties lie within the boundaries and jurisdiction of Winfield Township.
and are subject to all Township Ordinances… of particular interest to LSA members are
Zoning Ordinance, Short Term Rental Ordinance and Fireworks Ordinance.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION
The Association Board of Directors is comprised of five members.
Said Members are elected via an annual election to serve a two year term. The Terms are staggered such that in even number years two Directors are elected and in odd number of years three Directors are elected.
The “Slate of Candidates” is established via amember self-nomination process. Any “LSA Member in good standing” may stand for election by completing and submitting a CANDIDACY FORM.
The election process is conducted by Acacia Property Management Acacia prepares and delivers one ballot to each LSA household the first week of July. Ballots are required to be returned to and received by Acacia on or before July 31. Acacia Subsequently counts the ballots and reports the results to the Board of Director
The elected nominees assume responsibility and begin their term at the Annual Lake Shores Association Meeting held on the second Saturday of August.
