2021 LSA BOARD CANDIDATES
JESSICA ALBIN 8873 W. Suwanee Trail
We have lived on Indian Lake since 2010, raising our four children. I am a preschool teacher, working with children and families for 14+ years. I volunteer with TC Music Boosters, AYSO, the local youth wrestling club and have also served as Secretary/President of the Family Readiness Group for the Army Reserve’s 180th TC. This past fall I was appointed by the LSA Board of Directors to fill an open position. Shortly there after, I took over the position of Secretary. I would really appreciate the opportunity to continue serving on our BOD to provide consistency to the position and through it, improve communication within our LSA community. My goal is to ensure both lakefront and non-lakefront members are heard, to continue to improve our community facilities and common areas, and to assist in preserving our private and spectacular slice of heaven that is Indian Lake. Thank you for your time and consideration.
KIRT DESMOND HAROLD 17525 Thunder Bay Drive
I have been a full-time resident of Howard City since 2001. I am a fiancé, father of two sons, Devon and Desmond Harold, and a soon to be stepfather. We purchased our home on Indian Lake in December 2019. I own and operate Klein Gutters Midwest and proudly provide full-time employment to 12 community members. Having lived in Howard City for so many years, I had a goal of one day owning a home on Indian Lake. In the fall of 2019, I was fortunate enough enough to win a “sealed-bid” sale for my home on Thunder Bay Drive. As a new association member, I hope to be able to bring a fresh perspective and an open mind to this Board of Directors. As a business owner for many years, I understand the need to be open minded and diplomatic when engaged in helping resolve problems. Thank you for considering me for this position.
DEREK JACKSON 8210 Indian Shores Drive
Raised in Wyoming Michigan by two loving blue-collar parents who invested all the extra money in mine and my siblings education. Currently manage 60 team members at Byrne Electrical Specialists. I am a loving husband of 29 years and father of five amazing children and two incredible twin grandsons. My interest in becoming a candidate for the LSA Board stems from a lack of leadership, decision making or willingness not to get involved when controversy arises. I have seen this firsthand because I live on the “problem cove.” My family has witnessed blatant lying, bullying, trespassing with unauthorized removal of property and even charged assault on a fellow neighbor. All of these circumstances could’ve been avoided with some sort of Board intervention things have to change and I think I can help.
KEN KOOL 17150 Apache Trail
I have owned my home on Indian Lake since 2000 and I live here year around with my wife and two daughters. I am the sole proprietor of Kool Construction Company since 1986. I previously served on Winfield Township’s Zoning Board of Appeals and I am currently serving on Winfield Township’s Planning Commission and Board of Review. Please consider me for a Board of Directors position, as I have served as President for the last two years. It has been a privilege for me to work on the day-to-day business of the association with the combined group effort of my fellow Board members and the many lake residents who care about the community. My vision for the association is full-time residents and lake house owners enjoying a private community that is fiscally prudent (our association is currently operating debt free) while maintaining our physical assets to the highest standards our resources will allow.
JODI SIPP McPHERSON 8640 Cochise Drive
I am married with two children and five grandchildren and starting my 36th year as a Registered Nurse. My family has owned/ lived on Indian fake since the early 1970s. In 2019 I was elected to the LSA Board of Directors and would like your support to also serve the next two years. Throughout my working years I have always done direct patient care along with serving on various groups and committees such as: Process improvement Strategic planning and Community service outreach which I feel could be a benefit. Having deep ties to our lake community, family and friends I feel I can be supportive of our Indian Lakes LSA. My desire is to do what’s best for our lake in keeping our neighborhood a clean, fun and safe place to reside for current members and future families. Thank you for considering me as a potential Board member.
RUSSELL PAPKE 8190 Indian Shores Dr.
I grew up in Ada, Michigan and went through the Police Academy at GRCC. After 9/11, I joined the Ml Army National Guard where I’m now active duty. I’m a Combat Veteran with two tours in Iraq. I’m a devoted father and husband who believes in loving the neighbor as yourself. I wish to be considered for candidacy to the Indian Lake Shores LSA Board of Directors. I have directly felt the costly, negative effects of the past and current Board’s ineffectiveness. Our HOA Board exists to successfully manage and operate our community as a whole, and to preserve our property values. In my two short years living on this lake, l have seen conflict between neighbors intensified by the Board’s miscommunication and blatant indecision. I aim to restore the voice of our lake members, preventing future issues that pits neighbors against neighbor like what has happened on “the problem cove.”
BRUCE VANDERMEULEN 17710 Chippewa Trail
I have been a property owner on Indian Lake for 17 years and a full-time resident for nearly 2 years. My children have grown up on this lake. I am very committed to seeing that all residents are able to enjoy all this lake has to offer. As a Board member, I will be an involved participant as I believe that an active and involved Board is necessary for the continued advancement of our property values and enjoyment of Indian lake. I have a strong background in finance having worked as a financial planner for more than 25 years. I have existing Board experience as the current chair of the finance committee of a school Board. If I am elected to the LSA Board I will be a voice for advancement of all members concerns and ideas so that Indian Lake can be enjoyed by all.
Thank you all for your participation in our Board of Directors Election!
