The LSA Board of Directors is the governing authority of our Association, elected by the Membership as a whole. Any Member in good standing may complete an application for candidacy to the Board of Directors. Any Member who wishes to be included in this year’s election should complete and return an application to be received on or before June 20, 2018. The LSA Board of Directors Candidacy Form can be found under “forms” on the “Members” tab of our website.
The timeline for this year’s election is:
June 20 – last day to file a candidacy application
July 6 – ballots to be mailed by Gerow Management to all Members
August 6 – last day for Gerow to receive ballots of Members in good standing-ballots counted
August 9 – organizational meeting of newly elected Board members and election of officers
August 11 – Annual LSA Membership Meeting and installation of new Board of Directors
Five (5) Directors will be elected in this 2018 election, with the two (2) candidates receiving the most amount of votes elected to serve a 2-year term, and the remaining three (3) candidates elected to serve a one (1) year term. Thereafter, all candidates will be elected for 2-year terms so that:
in 2019, 3 Directors will be elected
in 2020, 2 Directors will be elected
in 2021, 3 Directors will be elected, and so on.
This procedural change will provide consistency to the Association and avoid a complete Board turnover in any given year. Therefore, all 2018 candidates should be prepared and willing to serve a 2-year term, as the 2 candidates with the most amount of votes will serve for a 2-year term.
