WEEKEND BOAT LAUNCH & 4th OF JULY
As we look to the busy holiday weekend, Members may wish to avoid launching/removing boats at the boat launch on Saturday, July 1, around 5:00 P.M. during the time the fireworks display is being launched and transported to the island, on Sunday, July 2, between 11:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. when the ski show equipment is being launched, and again after the show is complete. Please be courteous of the additional traffic on Apache Trail near the boat launch this weekend, and be prepared to launch and remove stickered watercraft upon your arrival at the launch.
Please remember that all boats should be cleaned before being placed in the lake if they have been in other bodies of water. Jet skis should be completely drained of all stored water. These practices will greatly minimize the likelihood of introducing additional costly invasive species into our lake.
Please note that Sue Guigelaar will be available at the boat launch Friday at noon, and Saturday & Sunday mornings between 8-10:00 A.M., to sticker any unregistered watercraft. Please download and complete the Association Watercraft Registration form before your arrival http://www.indianlakes.org/members/association-forms/.
The Association sponsored fireworks display is Saturday at 10:00 P.M.
A reminder that NO FIREWORKS are allowed at any time on any of the Association common properties, parks and lake. The Association asks all Members to be respectful of their neighbors this holiday week. While respecting that this is a holiday which carries the traditional use of fireworks, Members should also be considerate of the difficulty fireworks cause for families with work schedules, young children, animals and personal property easily damaged by fireworks. The Association requests that all Members adhere to the Township ordinance available on our website http://www.indianlakes.org/members/association-forms/ and note that any person who violates the ordinance shall be responsible for a municipal civil infraction and subject to a fine.
Any Members who experience problems with personal fireworks should report them to Township officials or the Sherriff’s office.
Please register your boat for the boat parade with Kathy Mason email@example.com. The theme for this year is Destinations. The parade will line up Saturday beginning at 8:00 P.M. in the large Cochise cove. Parade starts at 8:30 P.M.
The ski show sponsored by Keith Alexis, State Farm, will take place near Tepee Island on Sunday beginning at 2:00 P.M.
Please familiarize yourself with the Indian Lake boating regulations
http://www.indianlakes.org/boating-rules/, including the NO WAKE hours before 11:00 A.M. and after 8:30 P.M. each day. Boat traffic must adhere to ALL boating rules on this busy weekend. Expect the Sherriff to be present this weekend and any complaints should be directed to the Sherriff’s office for enforcement.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
