Dick Hokanson * – 8240 Indian Shores Drive, (517) 285-6780, firstname.lastname@example.org
Retired. I am a charter member of the Lake Shores Association having built my cottage/home on the lake in 1967/68. I was appointed to the Board in May of 2014. I was re-elected in 2015 and 2016 and have served as president since August 2015.
During my service I was a lead negotiator in resolving the law suit. I procured the bank loan to satisfy the legal debt. During the summer of 2015 I supervised the completion 22 “job jar” tasks. I designed constructed and installed the new Entrance Sign frame and with the assistance of Rich Tjalsma installed the vinyl siding on the pavilion.
In cooperation with the Board, have employed Gerow Management and established four member oriented Advisory Groups regarding lake issues, budget and financial issues, bylaw revisions and park maintenance and improvements.
I would like to continue to contribute.

Married Joelle with four children, two of our own, two foster along with two grandchildren. I’m employed by Purdue Pharma as a District Sales Manager. We previously lived in Rockford on Cowan Lake for 18 years and served on their lake association board.
This was my first year as a board member on the Lake Shores Association. I’ve enjoyed this first year along with the accomplishments that were made. This past year, the current board members worked very well together which is essential to keeping up the quality of the lake we all enjoy. Besides making decision regarding our financial budgets, I worked closely with the Aqua committee along with putting together the newly created advisory group for our parks. I’m excited to continue serving you as a board member for another very productive year. Feel free to email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tricia Korhorn * – 17510 Apache Trail, email@example.com, (616) 866-8210
I am a legal assistant/office manager at the Rockford Cottage Law Center, working in the specialized area of cottage law. My work with families that own vacation property they wish to keep in the family for generations gives me a unique insight into how families view their lakefront property.
I am currently serving as Board Secretary. During my time on the Board, I have made efforts to improve Association communication and available information by leading the redesign & maintenance of the new Association website. I serve as Board liaison to the Aqua Advisory Group & have worked closely with Gerow Management in advancing the services they provide to the Association in accounting & roster maintenance. I am a member of the Bylaw Revision Advisory Group & look forward to continuing to improve the consistency of Association rules & the availability of information for Association Members.

Cedar Springs Brewery. 18 yr. lake member, served on prior LSA boards for many years.
I want to see lake look good again, parks, keep community safe, members up to date on info. I want to be a part of bringing better ideas, and the board going in the directions of beautifying our lake, community, and overall enjoyment for all members.
Ken Ek * – 8984 W. Suwanee Trail, email@example.com, (616) 893-1307
I am married with 3 adult children and live full time on Indian Lake. I graduated from WMU with a degree in Marketing. On a professional level, I spent 17 years in the Mortgage Business as an Area Manager and for the past 8 years as a State Farm Agent.
My wife and I plan to retire on the lake. I want to volunteer to help assure that our members have the ability to continue to enjoy the lake and the surrounding parks. We as well as many others have moved to this lake either full or part time because of private lake status. We need to continue to protect the privacy of our lake. I also think that my past and present business experience would be an asset in contributing to the decision the Board faces regarding the well-being of the lake and the Association’s budget.
Dave Malmo * – 8681 Tecumseh Trail, firstname.lastname@example.org, (616) 260-0099
Over 30+ years I’ve served multiple boards such as church boards of administration, child abuse and neglect councils, and community corrections advisory board. I am a graduate of CMU and presently am retired. I have worked professionally as a teacher and a program director of an outpatient substance abuse facility.
Presently I serve as the Vice President of the Lake Shore Association Board of Directors, having been elected to the board in 2016. As a board member, I serve as a liaison to the newly established by-laws committee. I feel that as a board we have made some positive steps but there is much more that can be accomplished to improve this wonderful place on Indian Lake that we call home. Serving on this board is a privilege and I would like to continue being part of something positive in our community.
